Is there a bag check at the Graffiti Run?

AUGUST 27, 2014 by The Graffiti Run

The Graffiti Run will not hold a bag check, so be sure to leave what you don’t need in your car or in the capable hands of your friends!

Volunteering … How is that done?

AUGUST 20, 2014 by The Graffiti Run

First of all, we want to thank you for considering to volunteer at our event! We would not be able to bring this fun event at the cost we do if it weren’t for you guys! To volunteer you simply have to sign up on our event pages in the volunteer sections. Below are a list of all of our volunteering positions and their respective times (times likely to change depending on event):

GRAFFITI SQUAD – So, you think you have what it takes to be on the Graffiti Squad? We’ll see about that. Do you have the desire to donate your time, energy, and special powers to the noble cause of drenching every Graffiti Runner you encounter with as much color as possible? Do you have the skill to apply said color strictly below the neck of our Graffiti Runners, ensuring only minimal color hits their precious faces? Are you prepared to be covered yourself in beautiful color (because the Graffiti Squad is no place for chromophobes)? Do you promise to wear the Graffiti Squad shirt you receive for your service at least six days a week? Did you stand up and scream “YES!” to every one of these questions? If so, there just might be a place on the Graffiti Squad for you. GRAFFITI SQUAD ASSEMBLE!

Hours – Usually, no later than 7:00am -11:30am

H20 SQUAD – Yes, our colorful participants will be running and therefore they will be thirsty. If you want to be the most desired volunteer out on the course then the H20 SQUAD is for you. It will be up to our H20 squad to keep the color craziness moving and hydrated by distributing water to runners as they pass by. Please keep in mind you will also be responsible for clean up of the water bottles in your section.

Hours – Usually, no later than 7:00am -11:00am

REGISTRATION/CHECK-IN – You shall not Pass! That is right, no one will be admitted to run the Graffiti Run the day of the event without coming to see YOU or your team! Here you will be responsible for collecting waivers, checking ID’s, checking for completion of registration, administrating bibs/shirts & delegating any hard questions to the race director present in your area. Sounds hard, but really isn’t!

Hours – Usually, no later than 7:00am -11:00am

STORE/COLOR PACK – This group will be responsible for distributing the Graffiti Run Gear and Graffiti Packs to participants at the end of the race!

Hours – Usually, no later than 7:00am -11:00am

PRE-RACE DAY VOLUNTEER CATEGORIES: (These volunteers in exchange for volunteering the day before will get the option to join the Graffiti Run at a stunning $10!)

PRE-PACKET PICK-UP – This is just like Registration/Check-In duties, but this will be the day before the race, so you can still run for the discounted price. You must volunteer the entire time in order to earn the discounted price.

Hours – This varies and depends if there is a packet pick up in the city or not.

My clothes look awesome after the run, is there any way I can keep them like this?

JULY 25, 2014 by The Graffiti Run

If right after the run you use vinegar on your clothes we have found that holds the color quite well.

We are always hearing of great ways to keep the colorful side of you on the outside, if you find a new way please let us know at “[email protected]”.

Will the color destroy my clothes?

JULY 25, 2014 by The Graffiti Run

No it will not.

Our color is corn starch based colored dye, there is nothing inside of the starch that will stick to clothing. However we have had a few reports that extremely light dying sticks for one or two rinse cycles.

To ensure that your clothes are going to be clean in the days to come be sure to follow these simple steps:

1. After you are done partying go to our blow down station and get the initial cake of color off of you

2. When you arrive home, wash your clothes, wash twice if you find the first cycle unsatisfactory.

That’s it, told you it was simple.

I have children under 10 and I noticed you have a special discounted registration price for them, do I have to register my child?

JULY 25, 2014 by The Graffiti Run

This is actually a grey area, so I will explain it the best I can.

If your children are still at the age where they need to be taken by stroller everywhere, then you will not have to register them. However the kids will not receive a registration packet which will include a small t-shirt, a white headband, and a color pack for them to enjoy.

Now if your child is around the age when he is constantly moving and he/she wants to run The Graffiti Run with you, then he will need to be registered at the discounted price. If registered he/she will receive a registration packet containing the items above.

Confusing I know, however you will know what is best for your child.

If you have any questions feel free to contact our team at “[email protected]”.

Can I pick up someone else’s packet at packet pickup?

JULY 25, 2014 by The Graffiti Run

Yes you can pick up someones packet at our packet pickup, however we will need you to have their signed waivers and a photocopy of their IDs which can be done either on paper or through cell phone. If you do not have these things we are not able to release the packet to you.

If the person you are picking up for is under 18 we will not require a photo ID for them, the signed waiver will be enough.

You can find our waiver by clicking the word waiver below, or by going to any of our event pages and hitting the “race info” tab.

I just registered, am I good to go?

JULY 25, 2014 by The Graffiti Run

Once you are registered in our system you are for the most part good to go.

However we will need you to sign a liability waiver before you set off on your adventure. If you can have that signed beforehand that will help us catapult you through the lines.

You can find our waiver on every event page under the tab “Race Info” or by clicking the word waiver below.

I’ve been to a 5k before, the lines were awful. Is yours the same?

JULY 25, 2014 by The Graffiti Run

We are not immune to long lines on race day so be sure to either go to our packet pickup the day before our run or come a little early in order to beat the rush.

We highly suggest you come to our packet pickup as that is the best way to avoid the lines on race day, to find out when your city’s packet pickup is taking place head over to the location’s page, select your city, then hit the “Packet Pickup Information” tab.

If you can’t make it to packet pickup and are going to come on race day, we suggest you get there 30 minutes before you want to start running. Our lines even in crowds of 9000+ have rarely kept people waiting more than 30-35 minutes, so if you come early you should be good to go when you wish to start your colorful experience.

What is a Pre-Packet Pickup?

JULY 25, 2014 by The Graffiti Run

A Pre-Packet Pickup is a time where you can grab your race day packet which contains your shirt, headband, color pack, and bib, along with any additionally purchased items. We do this before the run to avoid the inevitable line that accumulates at our registration tent on race day.

Pre- Packet Pickup typically takes place the day before the race and it is usually announced two weeks in advance of the event.

To know the specifics about your run’s packet pickup check out the event page listed under the locations tab. If you select “Packet Pickup information” it will reveal the specifics of your city’s packet pickup.

Something came up, can I get a refund?

JULY 25, 2014 by The Graffiti Run

We can however transfer registrations to other people or set up an arrangement where you save your registration for the next time we are in town.

In order to set either option up please contact us at [email protected]
